Old VU Union to be torn down

Back to Front Page

Demolition work will begin this week on Valparaiso University’s former union building, adjacent to the Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources.

The union opened in 1955 serving a student body of 2,600. The new 207,000 square-foot Harre Union opened in 2009.

The teardown will make way for a new academic building that will house classrooms and faculty offices. University leaders hope to have the old union razed by the beginning of the fall semester.
