Demolition work will begin this week on Valparaiso University’s former union
building, adjacent to the Christopher Center for Library and Information
Resources.
The union opened in 1955 serving a student body of 2,600. The new 207,000
square-foot Harre Union opened in 2009.
The teardown will make way for a new academic building that will house
classrooms and faculty offices. University leaders hope to have the old
union razed by the beginning of the fall semester.
