PROPOSED
VARIANCE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of
Porter, Indiana, will hold a public hearing on the 19th of May, 2010 at 6:30
p.m. in the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite
205, Valparaiso, Indiana, to consider the petition of Thomas M. Rigg, c/o
Donald Bengel, 400 Wessex Rd., Valparaiso, seeking a Variance to waive
Section 10.33, Subdivision Control, Primary Plat, and Section 10.34,
Secondary Plat, of the Unified Development Ordinance, to permit construction
of a home, to be located on the following described property:
A parcel of land in the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 28, Township 35 North, Range 5 West of the Second Principal
Meridian, in Porter County, Indiana, being more particularly described as
follows: Commencing at the Northeast corner of said Northwest Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter, thence South 00 degrees 22 minutes 18 seconds East
(assumed bearing) along the East line of said North Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter, a distance of 750.00 feet to the Southeast corner of the Belaschky/Bianchi
tract, as described in Document Number 2006-002460 recorded on January 30,
2006, in the Office of the Recorder of Porter County, Indiana, said corner
being the Point of Beginning of the parcel described herein; thence
continuing South 00 degrees 22 minutes 18 seconds East along said East line
of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 298.05 feet
to a point being 280.67 feet North, as measured along said East line, of the
Southeast corner of said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence
South 89 degrees 49 minutes 56 seconds West parallel with the South line of
said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, a distance of 388.00 feet
to the East line of Parcel #21 of the Porter County Municipal Airport
Authority Tract, as described in Deed Record 425, page 444 recorded April
23, 1992 in said Office of the County Recorder; thence North 00 degrees 22
minutes 18 seconds West along said East line of Parcel #21, a distance of
296.67 feet to the intersection with the South line of said Belaschky/Bianchi
Tract; thence North 89 degrees 37 minutes 42 seconds East along said South
line, a distance of 388.00 feet to the Point of Beginning. Containing 2.65
acres, more or less.
GENERAL LOCATION: A parcel of land located at 850 Rigg Rd., in Washington
Township, Porter County, Indiana.
Written suggestions to said proposed Variance(s) may be filed with the
Executive Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public
hearing and/or verbal statements relating thereto will be heard at the
above-designated time and place. A copy of the file is available for public
view at the Plan Commission office.
