NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PROPOSED VARIANCE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of Porter, Indiana, will hold a public hearing on the 15th of September, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 205, Valparaiso, Indiana, to consider the petition of John & Tammy Rosenbaum, 410 E. 900 S., Kouts, seeking Variances from the Unified Development Ordinance, Sections 5.04 AS-01: Accessory Structure; General, (F) Placement; and 2.08 A1 District Development Standards, Minimum Front Setback, reducing the front setback from 50’ to 25’, in order to construct a 2-car garage in the front yard of a residence, located in a A-1 General Agricultural District, on a parcel located on the following described property:

A parcel of land in the Northwest Quarter of Section 22, Township 33 North, Range 5 West of the 2nd P.M. in Pleasant Township, Porter County, Indiana, described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of said Northwest Quarter; thence East along the North line of said Northwest Quarter, 723.48 feet to the point of beginning; thence South at 90º to said North line, 258 feet, more or less, to the North right-of-way line of the former Chicago & Erie Railroad; thence Northwesterly along said North right-of-way line, 571 feet, more or less, to the North line of said Northwest Quarter; thence East along said North line, 510 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. Containing 1.5 acres, more or less.

GENERAL LOCATION: A parcel of land located at 410 E. 900 S., in Pleasant Township, Porter County, IN.

Written suggestions to said proposed Variance(s) may be filed with the Executive Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public hearing and/or verbal statements relating thereto will be heard at the above-designated time and place.
