NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF HEARING

ON PROPOSED RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF

CUMULATIVE CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town of Chesterton, Porter County, Indiana, that the Town of Chesterton Town Council will meet and conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th day of July, 2011, at the Chesterton Town Hall, 726 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana on a Resolution for the re-establishment of a Cumulative Capital Development Fund under the provisions of Indiana Code § 36-9-15.5, et seq, for all purposes set forth in I.C. § 36-9-15.5-2. The tax will be levied on all taxable real and personal property within the taxing district and will not exceed $0.04 per $100.00 of assessed valuation. The proposed re-established fund will be levied beginning in 2012, payable 2013, continuing until reduced or rescinded. The Resolution for re-establishment of the Town of Chesterton Cumulative Capital Development Fund is subject to approval by the Department of Local Government Finance, which will require a Notice of Submission to be given to the taxpayers by publication. After the publication of the Notice of Submission, fifty (50) or more taxpayers in the taxing district may file a petition with the County Auditor not later than thirty (30) days after publication, setting forth their objections to the proposed levy.
