Railroad Bridge Blasting/Painting - 2010

The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Painting of Bridge(s) 66.97 Grand Calumet River, 67.62 Hoffman Street and 67.87 Chicago Street, East Chicago, Indiana, as more fully described in the Technical Specifications of the Bid Packet. All bids must meet NICTD’s material specifications as further described in the Technical Specifications, Plans and Drawings of the Bid Packet.

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held to discuss the work in further detail and to answer any questions that the Contractor may have at 9:00 a.m., local time, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 601 N Roeske Ave., Michigan City, Indiana 46360.

Bid Form Packets, including specifications, are available beginning on Thursday, May 27, 2010 and thereafter at the following location:

Bid Packets are to be requested by either fax, email or by picking up in person at the above address. Your request should include the company name, address, email address, phone/fax numbers, the individual’s name to respond to and only a Federal Express or UPS account number that can be utilized for shipping and billing purposes.

Bids shall be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked: “BID FOR BRIDGE PAINTING” which shall be contained within an outer shipping envelope and received at:

Bids will be received not later than 2:30 p.m., local time, Friday, July 16, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above stated time and date will be returned to the sender unopened.

NICTD has established an overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal of ten (10) percent. Bidders shall make good faith efforts to meet or exceed the District’s Goal. Davis-Bacon Act requirements are relevant to this contract.

NICTD reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive minor discrepancies, omissions, variances or irregularities in any bid, provided it is in the District’s best interest to do so. No Bids can be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the bids are opened.
