NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PROPOSED ZONING AMENDMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Plan Commission of the County of Porter, Indiana will hold a public hearing on the 13th day of July, 2011 at 6:30 p.m., in the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 205, Valparaiso, Indiana to consider the petition of David & Carol Shepard, c/o Attorney Gregory Babcock, 111 S. Calumet Road, Chesterton, Indiana for a proposed amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance to rezone a parcel of land from RR, Rural Residential to A-1, General Agriculture District to be located on the following described parcel:

The North 514 feet of the West 850 Feet of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 37 North, Range 5 West of the Second Principal Meridian, Porter County, Indiana, being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a railroad spike marking the Northwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25; thence North 89 degrees 57 minutes 20 seconds East, along the North line of said Northwest Quarter, 850.04 feet; thence South 00 degrees 29 minutes 34 seconds West, parallel with the west line of said Northwest Quarter, 514.02 feet; thence South 89 degrees 57 minutes 20 seconds West, parallel with the North line of said Northwest Quarter, 850.04 feet to the West line of said Northwest Quarter; thence North 00 degrees 29 minutes 34 seconds East, along said West line, 514.02 feet to the Point of Beginning. Containing 10.03 acres, more or less, and subject to all legal highways and easements of record.

GENERAL LOCATION: A parcel of land located at 1389 N. 600 E., in Pine Township, Porter County, Indiana.

Written suggestions to said proposed zoning amendment may be filed with the Executive Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public hearing and/or verbal statements relating thereto may be heard at the above designated time and place. A copy of the file is available for public view at the Plan Commission office.
