NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PROPOSED USE VARIANCE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Zoning Appeals of the County of Porter, Indiana, will hold a public hearing on the 21st day of April, 2010 at 6:30 p.m., in the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 205, Valparaiso, Indiana, to consider the petition of David Griffith, 901 N. 264 W., Valparaiso, seeking a Use Variance from Section 2.11 RR District Intent & Permitted Uses in the Unified Development Ordinance, to permit a private shooting preserve; to be located on the following described parcel of land:

PARCEL DESCRIPTION:

A parcel of land in the East One-Half (E 1/2) of the West One-Half (W 1/2) of Section 16, Township 36 North, Range 6 West of the Second Principal Meridian in Liberty Township, Porter County, Indiana, lying South of the Southerly right-of-way line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of said E 1/2 of the W 1/2; thence Northerly along the West line of said E 1/2 of the W 1/2, a distance of 2640 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of said Section 16; thence continuing Northerly along said West line of the E 1/2 of the W 1/2, a distance of 1055 feet, more or less, to the Southerly right-of-way line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; thence Easterly along said Southerly right-of-way line, a distance of 1365 feet, more or less, to the East line of said E 1/2 of the W 1/2; thence Southerly along said East line, a distance of 705 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner of the NW 1/4 of said Section 16; thence continuing Southerly along said East line of the E 1/2 of the W 1/2, a distance of 2640 feet, more or less, to the Southeast corner of said E 1/2 of the W 1/2; thence Westerly along the South line of said E 1/2 of the W 1/2, a distance of 1320 feet, more or less, to the Point of Beginning. Contains 107 acres, more or less.

GENERAL LOCATION: A parcel of land at 901 N. 264 W., in Liberty Township, Porter County, Indiana.

Written suggestions to said proposed Use Variance may be filed with the Executive Director of the Porter County Plan Commission before such public hearing and/or verbal statements relating thereto will be heard at the above designated time and place. A copy of the file is available for public view at the Plan Commission office.
