BIDDERS
In-Track Electric
Flash-Butt Welding
Services -2011
The Northern
Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from
qualified contractors for In-Track Electric Flash-Butt Welding services
along its Maintenance of Way for its operations in St. Joseph, LaPorte or
Lake County, Indiana. All bids must meet NICTD’s specifications as further
described in the Plans and Specifications of the Bid Packet.

8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. local time, at the following location:

Bid Packets are
to be requested by either fax or email. Your request should include the
company name, address, email address, the individual’s name to respond to,
phone/fax number and either a Federal Express or UPS account number that can
be utilized for shipping/ billing purposes. Information regarding this Bid,
including the results can be found at nictd.com (Go to Info, then
Purchasing)
Bids shall be
submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked: “Welding Services”.
All bids are to be submitted within an outer envelope. Bids shall be
submitted on forms contained in the bid package.

Bids will be
received not later than 2:30 P.M., local time, Friday, March 18, 2011, at
which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after
the above stated time and date will be returned to the sender unopened. Bids
must set forth full, accurate and complete information as required by the
instructions in the bid package. Failure to do so may result in rejection of
a bid.
NICTD has
established an overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal of ten
(10) percent. Bidders shall make good faith efforts to meet or exceed the
District’s Goal.
NICTD reserves
the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive minor discrepancies,
omissions, variances or irregularities in any bid, provided it is in the
District’s best interest to do so. No Bids can be withdrawn for a period of
ninety (90) days after the bids are opened.
