Dump Truck
Chassis, tandem Axle Chassis & Knuckle Boom Truck
The Northern
Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from
qualified manufacturers/suppliers for the purchase of One (1) New Single
Axle Chassis for Snow/Plow Dump Truck, One (1) New Tandem Axle Chassis Dump
for Body and One (1) New Single Axle Chassis for Knuckle Boom Truck as more
fully described in Exhibit 1, Technical Specifications, Plans and Drawings
dated February 2010, for its operations in Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph
Counties, Indiana and Cook County, Illinois. All bids must meet NICTD’s
specifications as further described in the Technical Specifications of the
Bid Packet.

Form Packet, including the specifications is available between the hours of
8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. local time, at the following location:

Bid Packets are
to be requested by either fax or email. Your request should include the
company name, address, phone/fax numbers, email address, the individual’s
name to respond to and either a Federal Express or UPS account number that
can be utilized for shipping and billing purposes. Information regarding
this bid, including the results, can be found at NICTD.com. (Go to Info,
Purchasing)
Bids shall be
submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked: TRUCKS. All bids are
to be submitted within an outer envelope. Bids shall be submitted on forms
contained in the Bid Package.

Bids will be
received not later than 2:30 P.M., local time, Friday, March 19, 2010, at
which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after
the above stated time and date will be returned to the sender unopened. Bids
must set forth full, accurate and complete information as required by the
instructions in the Bid Package. Failure to do so may result in rejection of
a bid.
NICTD’s overall
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal is ten percent
(10) of the bid price. Bidders are required to make good faith commitments
to meet or exceed the District’s goal.
NICTD will award
the Contract(s) to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder. NICTD
reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive technical defects
if, in its judgment, the interests of NICTD so require. NICTD reserves the
right to accept any bid within 90 days after the time of the opening of the
bid, during which time no bid shall be withdrawn.
