REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS
Northwest Indiana
Community Action Corporation of 5240 Fountain Drive, Crown Point, Indiana,
which serves as the Area Agency on Aging for Jasper, Lake, Newton, Porter,
Pulaski and Starke counties and as the Community Action Agency for Jasper,
Lake, Newton and Porter Counties, will accept proposals for 2010-2012
contracts to serve disabled, elderly and low-income families in Northwest
Indiana.
Older Americans
Act Title III annual funding of an estimated $2,633,000. Services include:
Transportation, Homemaker, Legal Services, Congregate Meals, Home Delivered
Meals, Health Screening, Health Promotion & Education, Medication
Management, Caregiver Counseling, Caregiver Support Groups, and Respite
Services.
CHOICE annual
funding of an estimated $2,449,265 and SSBG funding of an estimated
$391,162. Services include: Adult Day Care, Attendant Care, Home Delivered
Meals, Homemaker, Respite, Home Health Aide, Nursing, Home Health Supplies,
Transportation, Personal Emergency Response, Handy Chore and other pertinent
services.
CSBG annual
funding of an estimated $225,000. Services include Community Workshops and
Emergency Assistance to Low Income Families.
LIHEAP annual
funding of an estimated $1,589,000. Services include Energy Assistance
Intake, Client Education of Energy Conservation, Weatherization Shell and
Weatherization Mechanical services.
DOE annual
funding of an estimated $610,000 and DOE ARRA one-year funding of an
estimated $2,796,000. Services include Weatherization Intake, Weatherization
Shell and Weatherization Mechanical services.
HUD annual
funding of an estimated $86,000. Services include Housing Choice Voucher
Program Intake.
Proposal packets
will be available beginning March 1, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and
4:00 P.M at the office above or downloaded from our web site www.nwi-ca.com.

Technical Assistance workshops will be conducted on Friday, March 5, 2010.
Further information regarding Technical Assistance workshops will be
available in the RFP packet or by contacting NWICA as indicated above.
It is important
that all proposals be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on April 16, 2010.
Proposals received after that date and time will not be considered for the
July 1, 2010 contract implementation. All proposals should be clearly marked
as such and will be reviewed by authorized representatives of Northwest
Indiana Community Action Corporation.
Northwest Indiana
Community Action Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all
proposals, waive technicalities and to award the contract in the best
interest of Northwest Indiana Community Action Corporation and those it
serves.
