NICTD REQUEST FOR BIDDERS

Railroad Track Material 2010

The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified suppliers for the purchase of Track Material for its yards in Michigan City, LaPorte County, Indiana. All bids must meet NICTD’s specifications as further described in the Technical Specifications of the Bid Packet. Items to be bid are as follows:

Bid Packets are to be requested by either fax or email. Your request should include the company name, address, phone/fax numbers, email address, the individual’s name to respond to and either a Federal Express or UPS account number that can be utilized for shipping and billing purposes. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked: Track Material. All bids are to be submitted within an outer envelope. Bids shall be submitted on forms contained in the bid package.

Bids will be received not later than 2:30 P.M., local time, Friday, March 19, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above stated time and date will be returned to the sender unopened. Bids must set forth full, accurate and complete information as required by the instructions in the bid package. Failure to do so may result in rejection of a bid.

NICTD’s overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal is ten percent (10) of the bid price. Bidders are required to make good faith commitments to meet or exceed the District’s goal.

NICTD will award the Contract(s) to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. NICTD reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive technical defects if, in its judgment, the interests of NICTD so require. NICTD reserves the right to accept any bid within 90 days after the time of the opening of the bids, during which time no bid shall be withdrawn.
