NOTICE OF RECEIVING BIDS

The Town of Burns Harbor Porter County Indiana will receive sealed bids for the pickup and removal of refuse noon on Wednesday December 8, 2010 at the Clerk-Treasurer office of Burns Harbor Indiana. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Town Hall of the Town of Burns Harbor on December 8, 2010.

The bids will include weekly trash collection from all town residents of 489 homes on the regular pickup day of any large items or furniture, disposal of all trash in an approved landfill, two annual town cleanup days to be set by the Town. 95 gallon rollaway toters for each residence, one-3 cubic yard dumpster at Lakeland Park and five 95 gallon toters, one 1-1/2 cubic yard dumpster at the Town Hall, one-1 cubic yard dumpster at the Town Garage, and two 95 gallon toters at the Fire Station emptied weekly.

The bids shall include initial mailing to residents of services provided and annually thereafter. It should also include as a separate line item recycling service and recycle bins for each resident pick up to coincide with regular trash pick-up weekly or biweekly.

Each bidder shall take note of the fact that there exists in the Town of Burns Harbor two mobile home parks.

The bids shall be for a five year period commencing January 1 2011. The bids should include an annual adjustment for change in homes serviced. All bids shall be submitted on State Board of Accounts General Form 96 and shall be accompanied by a Bid bond, Cashier or Certified Check, payable to the Town of Burns Harbor in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount.

The Town Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive defects in bids, or to re-advertise for bids.
