NOTICE OF RECEIVING BIDS

FOR SUPPLIES AND SERVICES FOR THE PORTER COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, THE PORTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT AND THE PORTER COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR 2011

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of Porter County, Indiana will receive sealed bids at the office of the Porter County Auditor at the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Ave., Suite 204, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 until 4:30 P.M., CST, Monday, November 15, 2010. Bid opening will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. CST at the Porter County Administration Center, 155 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso, Indiana 46383. The following items will be available for use at all Porter County Government Facilities and structures, both existing and future:

1. Limestone

2. Slag

3. Bituminous Plant Mix

4. Fill Sand

5. Pavement Stripings and Markings

6. Rental Rates for Equipment

7. Signs and Sign Posts

8. Calcium Chloride Products

9. Diesel Fuel

10. Motor Oil and Chassis Lubricants

11. Galvanized Corrugated Steel Culverts and Galvanized Culverts & Guardrails

12. Pre-cast or Prestressed Bridge Slabs and Beams

Specifications may be obtained at the office of the Porter County Auditor.

Each item bid shall be submitted in a separate envelope with bid class and bid number specified. Each item shall be on an individual official Form No. 96 approved by the State Board of Accounts and accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit.

Each bidder shall accompany his bid with a bidder’s bond or certified check payable to the Porter County Treasurer for each item bid whenever the total of such bid is in excess of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and said bond check shall not be more than ten (10) percent of the total bid. The surety on any bond must be acceptable to the Board of Commissioners. If there is no total specified on the bid, the minimum bond or certified check of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) will be required for each item bid.

The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, waive all informalities, or irregularities in bidding and to readvertise.
