WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A bomb squad has blown up a suspicious package that prompted evacuations on the main Purdue University campus in West Lafayette.

WLFI-TV reports the package was found Wednesday morning placed against a corner of Stewart Center, a building with meeting rooms near the Purdue Memorial Union. Both Stewart Center and the union were evacuated during the scare.

Purdue police say the package was wrapped with a variety of things with wiring coming out of it. After an examination of the package including X-rays, the bomb squad robot blew up the package. Officers say the package contained a flashlight, a reflective belt and other items.

No injuries were reported.
