Indiana sergeant dies in Iraq

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A soldier from Brownsburg has been killed in Iraq.

The Department of Defense says 41-year-old Staff Sgt. Michael D. Elledge died Monday in Baghdad from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was one of two soldiers killed in the attack.

Elledge was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Carson, Colo.
