Teale Road between U.S. Highway 12 and Furnessville Road will be permanently
closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday, Sept. 30, the National Park
Service (NPS).
NPS owns all lands on either side of Teale Road and the last remaining
residence on the road was vacated earlier this year, NPS said. Teale Road
will be permanently closed to vehicular traffic but will be accessible to
pedestrians and bicyclists.
NPS plans eventually to remove the asphalt and restore the area to a natural
landscape as funding becomes available.
