Signs of spring: Signs of spring are popping up all over, among them the delicate Snowdrops. These tiny flowers are among the first to bloom. Just inches high, they sport a bright white, six tepal flower, which hangs like a bell from the stem. Look closely, often where there’s is one there are many. They prefer a spot beneath deciduous trees where bright spring light gives way to shade later in the season. After a taste of spring Monday, temperatures dropped from the low 60s to the very low 30s, as wind gusts whipped through Duneland overnight. The National Weather Service predicts lows in the 20s tonight. (Tribune photo by Margaret L. Willis)
