There were some date changes due to scheduling in the CHS Summer School
information.
Jumpstart Summer School for all Duneland elementary/intermediate and middle
school students will begin Monday, July 21 and conclude on Friday, Aug. 8.
Elementary/Intermediate summer session for students currently in grades
Kindergarten through grade 5 will be held at Bailly Elementary School. Middle
school session for students currently in grades 6-7 will be held at
Chesterton Middle School. The school day will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at
12:15 p.m.
The elementary/intermediate and middle school summer school fee is $60 per
child.

Registration information will be distributed to elementary, intermediate and
middle schools on April 3.
CHS Summer School
Chesterton High School will begin accepting applications for Summer School
2008 on Monday, March 31. Two 17-day sessions will be offered. Registration
forms for summer school and drivers education will be available on Monday,
March 17 in the CHS Assistant Principal’s and Guidance Offices, at the CMS
Guidance Office, and at St. Patrick’s School.
Session 1 is scheduled June 11-July 3. Session 2 is scheduled July 7-29.
Classes begin at 7:30 a.m. and dismiss at 12:20 p.m.
Classes for Incoming Freshman Only
Session 1 and 2: Algebra Concepts and Basic Physical Education. PE openings
are limited.
Classes for Grades 9-12
Session 1
Courses offered for remediation: English, Algebra I, Investigative Geometry,
Geometry, Health, Basic Physical Education, Biology, US. Government and
Economics.
Courses offered for enrichment: Algebra Concepts, Health, Basic Physical
Education, US Government and Economics.
Session 2
Courses offered for remediation: English, Algebra I, Investigative Geometry,
Geometry, Health, Basic Physical Education, Biology, US. Government and
Economics.
Courses offered for enrichment: Algebra Concepts, Health, Basic Physical
Education, US Government, Economics
CHS will also accept applications beginning March 31 for the two driver
education sessions scheduled June 10-27 and July 2-24. You must be 15 years
old to enroll in the Driver Education program. Driver Education fee is $350.
Applications are now available in the CHS Assistant Principals’ Office, CMS
Guidance Office and St. Patrick School Main Office. Payment is due with
registration
If a student is interested in taking a second session of summer school at one
of the surrounding area high schools, he or she must see their guidance
counselor as soon as possible.
