The first round of on-line school registration has gone smoothly, all things
considered, Duneland Superintendent Dave Pruis is reporting.
All elementary and intermediate school students registered on Monday and
“There were varying degrees of difficulty,” Pruis told the Chesterton
Tribune today. “It was a little rough at times. There were some issues
with computers. But (on-line registration) was new to us and in general
everything went fine.”
“There were a few computer glitches but we got through it,” Pruis added.
“You try something new and hope for the best. Next year we hope it’ll be a
whole lot easier.”
The Tribune has received at least two anecdotal reports from parents
of computers which wouldn’t allow incorrect information to be changed or
updated information to be entered.
A reminder: seventh-graders are scheduled to register on Monday Aug. 12;
eighth-graders on Tuesday, Aug. 13; freshmen and sophomores on Monday, Aug.
12; juniors and seniors on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
