Duneland's community school system to celebrate 50 years on Jan 1, 2019

Back To Front Page

The Duneland School Corporation plans to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its incorporation.

On January 1, 1969, Duneland School District was formed after voters from Westchester Township, Jackson Township, Liberty Township and parts of Pine Township agreed to the incorporation of the new school district. January 1, 2019 will mark the 50th Anniversary of the Duneland School District.

Since that decision to consolidate, the Duneland School Corporation has grown into an excellent school district, celebrating many statewide and national accomplishments by its students, student organizations, and staff.

Over the next few months, a 50th Anniversary Committee will be planning special events leading up to the actual date of the incorporation. Please watch for further announcements regarding these special school and community events that will lead up to a celebration in January.

The committee is interested in speaking with individuals who experienced the transition to the Duneland School District. Anyone wishing to share information or ideas may contact Bridget Martinson at the Duneland Administration Center at (219)983-3600 or email bmartinson@duneland.k12.in.us.
