The Duneland Education Foundation (DEF) will kick-off ticket sales for its annual $10,000 scholarship raffle on Friday, January 11.

The tickets, at $25 each, will be sold beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the CHS cafeteria during the Basketball Boosters Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser and continue up to half-time of the Varsity Boys Basketball game against Michigan City.

Those who purchase a ticket before half-time of the Varsity game will have the opportunity to make a 3-point shot for a $100 Visa Gift Card donated by the First State Bank of Porter.

The DEF will also offer balloons, face painting and temporary tattoos for CHS fans to promote team spirit.

The $10,000 Scholarship Raffle, sponsored by First State Bank of Porter, is one of the DEF's two major fundraisers for the year. Each ticket sold represents a 1-in-1,000 chance at a $10,000 scholarship which may be used to pay for any post-secondary education expenses, including vocational and technology training. The proceeds may also be used as an endowment to a post-secondary institution in the purchasers name.

New this year, the proceeds may be used for payment of student loans to a qualified lender for the benefit of the winner.

Tickets may be purchased at Anton Insurance or by contacting the Duneland Education Foundation at 219-983-3715.

Tickets will be sold from January 11 through April 19.

The drawing will be held at the second annual Duneland Education Foundation Gala on April 19.
