CHS’s Policy debate had its strongest performance of the young season with its four varsity entries all placing within the top five.

Mark Jewison and Milena Veltri finished with a perfect record to finish as tournament champions. It is the first varsity title for Jewison and Veltri, who are both sophomores.

Ben Hoham and Hattie Hoham came in third place, Ethan Diddle and Ryan Donovan were fourth, and Gianna Galante and Madi Simms took fifth. Megan Nowka and Riley Hawksworth put in a strong enough performance to place third at the novice level while Ethan Schyer and Jonathon McClure came in seventh.

Alexis Ioannidis and Sidney Pittman continued their strong start to their sophomore season, finishing in third place at the varsity level of Public Forum debate. Emily Krygoske and Morgan Glossinger came in fourth. Krygoske (a senior) and Glossinger (a freshman) were a surprise last minute partnership after both had partners who were unable to compete. Nick Hanson and Tim Wheeler continued their placement streak to start the season with a fifth-place finish. In the novice division, Jackson Jessen and Saanya Agarwal secured fourth place while Evan Cowsert and Zander Fish finished eighth.

Elia Livovich helped the varsity Lincoln-Douglas crew bounce back after a tough tournament the prior week. Livovich finished in fourth overall while teammate Bella Auricchio came in fifth. Mia Enzer came in eighth place in the novice division. John Petro was the only CHS debater that finished in Congressional debate; placing seventh at the varsity level.
