Back To Front Page

Registration is now open for Duneland YMCA Youth Track and Youth T-Ball, the first two Y youth sports programs to resume at the Y since the beginning of the pandemic. Played in the open air, participants will enjoy the opportunity to learn about becoming and staying active and developing healthy habits that they'll carry with them throughout their lives. "The benefits are far greater than just physical health," said Y Sports Coordinator Alyssa White. "Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out. We look forward to welcoming you and your children out on the field at Y practices and games."

Youth Track will be comprised of running events only this summer. Youth track is for kids ages 3 years through 5th grade. Youth will have the opportunity to complete against a variety of other youth programs from the area. Registration is open June 15 through July 3 and the three-week season will begin on July 6. The season includes meets on July 11, 18 and 25 at 8 a.m. at Valparaiso High School, with practices throughout each week at the Duneland Y. The cost to participate is $35 per child for Y Members and $70 per child for Non-Members.

Youth T-Ball is specifically designed for kids ages 3 to 6 to provide a foundation and introduction to baseball, so kids, get ready to step up to the plate and play ball! This national pastime will get participants feeling like they're ready for the big leagues! The four week season runs July 13 through August 8 with practices and games to be announced. The cost to participate in Youth T-Ball is $20 per child for Y Members and $40 per child for Non-Members.
