YMCA gymnastics helps kids stretch their limits

Back To Front Page

Gymnastics and tumbling registration is open now through September 11, at Duneland YMCA, for kids from 18 months to 12 years old.

New equipment has been added to enhance this growing program. Through age appropriate activities, children learn tumbling skills while having lots of fun. All children can benefit from participation in gymnastics and tumbling that go far beyond the technical skills. It can help improve on many of the developmental areas that will help children become better students and young adults.

Gymnastics and tumbling are among the most comprehensive lifestyle exercise programs available to children, incorporating strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power, and discipline. The skills learned can benefit a child’s overall health, well-being, and development.

The fall gymnastics and tumbling season is from September 11 to October 16. The cost for kids age 19 months to 5 years old is $30 per child for Y members and $60 for non-members. For kids ages 6-12, the cost is $45 per child for Y members and $90 for non-members.

Register your child at or at the Y Welcome Center. For more information, contact Andrew Zimmer,, or 926-4204.

The Duneland Y has been serving the Duneland Communities for more than 50 years focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility and is a United Way of Porter County Partner Agency.
