Windiana concert Saturday at Coffee Creek Conservancy

Enjoy a music filled evening under the stars Saturday, August 16, at the Chesterton Amphitheater in the Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve. Northwest Indiana’s premier wind ensemble, Windiana, will present a Concert at the Creek, beginning at 7 p.m.

The evening will feature music from Disney film Frozen, Happy by Pharrell Williams and an array of John Philip Sousa American classics and many more, for a concert designed with audience enjoyment in mind.

Conducted by Jeffrey Doebler, director of music education and bands at Valparaiso University, Windiana is a concert band, based in northwest Indiana. Windiana's mission is to perform concert band literature and to provide a concert band opportunity for professional-level musicians. Members of Windiana have studied with some of the most notable musicians in America, and are recognized for their performing and teaching.

"The Chesterton Amphitheater is the perfect venue for an evening of entertaining music for the whole family. Windiana provides a diverse and up-tempo variety of music that everyone in the family will love,” said Coffee Creek Watershed Conservancy executive director, Katie Rizer.

There is no charge for this concert and guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics. Local vendor, What's Up, Dog! will be selling hotdogs, chips and beverages. The Chesterton Amphitheater is at 2401 Village Point in Chesterton.

The Chesterton Amphitheater is one of the many amenities in the 157-acre Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve. Over four miles of trails are open daily for hiking, biking, and running. Concertgoers can enjoy the music sitting in the grassy seating area or while strolling through the water plaza at the edges of Phillips Pond.
