A Westchester Intermediate School staff tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning; while a Chesterton High School student in the hybrid-A-K cohort tested positive on Thursday afternoon, the Duneland School Corporation is reporting.

The administration, in consultation with the Porter County Health Department, has conducted contact tracing measures for both. No individuals were identified as close contacts of the WIS staffer, DSC said; one individual was identified as a close contact of the CHS student and that person will be quarantined for 14 days.

“Please be aware that privacy laws, including HIPAA and FERPA, prevent us from sharing further information regarding students and staff,” DSC added.
