Three more Duneland
students tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, the Duneland School
Corporation (DSC) is reporting:
-- A CHS student
tested positive on Friday afternoon. Contact-tracing identified six persons
as having been in close contact with that student, and they will be
quarantined 14 days.
-- Another CHS
student tested positive on Saturday afternoon. Twenty persons were
identified as having been in close contact with this student.
-- And a Chesterton
Middle School student tested positive on Saturday afternoon as well.
Nineteen persons were identified as being in close contact.
A total of 45
close-contacts of those three students are now in 14-day quarantine.
“Please be aware
that privacy laws, including HIPPA and FERPA, prevent us from sharing
further information regarding students and staff,” DSC said.
According to the
Chesterton Tribune’s records, 24 DSC in-person students or staffers have
tested positive for COVID-19 since classes began:
-- Sept. 3: one
Liberty Elementary student.
-- Sept. 11: one
Chesterton High School student; and two Bailly Elementary students.
-- Sept. 14: one
-- Sept. 15: one
Liberty Intermediate staffer.
-- Sept. 16: two
CHS students; and one LIS staffer.
-- Sept. 17: one
Yost Elementary staffer; and one LIS staffer.
-- Sept. 18: one
Westchester Intermediate student.
-- Sept. 23: one
-- Sept. 26. one
-- Sept. 30: one
CHS student; and one WIS student.
-- Oct. 1: two Yost
students; a WIS staffer; and a CHS student.
-- Oct. 5: a CHS
-- Oct. 9: a CHS
-- Oct. 10: a CHS
student; and a CMS student.
