Statewide: New C19 cases roughly half of what they were two weeks ago

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 370 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours (373 new cases on Tuesday), to bring total confirmed cases in the state to 32,437, up from 32,078, an increase of 1.2 percent.

ISDH was also reporting 21 additional deaths over the last 24 hours (18 additional deaths on Tuesday), to bring the total in the state so far to 1,871, up from 1,859 on Tuesday, an increase of 1.1 percent.

The number of probable COVID-19 deaths to date: 159. Probable deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths in Indiana:  (2,030).

Nursing home cases and deaths to date: 4,086 cases and 876 deaths (unchanged from Tuesday). Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of COVID-19: 224. Number of nursing homes in the state with at least one COVID-19 death: 142.

235,333 tests have been reported to date to ISDH, up from 230,759, an increase of 1.2 percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 13.8 percent. Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and private laboratories.

Tests in Porter County: 4,293 (4,155 on Tuesday). In Lake County: 21,474 (21,084). In LaPorte County: 3,653 (3,587).

Marion County has the most reported cases, 9,371 (9,268 on Tuesday); and the most deaths, 546 (539). Lake County has reported 3,347 cases (3,320) and 170 deaths (168), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 415 cases and 23 deaths (415 and 22).
