Statewide: 675 new cases, 33 new deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 675 new COVID-19 cases, to bring total confirmed cases in the state to 23,146, up from 22,503, an increase of 2.9 percent over the last 24 hours.

ISDH was also reporting 33 new deaths over the last 24 hours, to bring the total to 1,328, up from 1,295 on Thursday, an increase of 2.5 percent

The number of probable COVID-19 deaths was unchanged from Thursday: 119. Probable deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. Total confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths Indiana: 1,447 (1,414 on Thursday).

Nursing home cases and deaths to date: 2,316 cases, 420 deaths (unchanged from Thursday). Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of COVID-19: 173. Number with at least one death: 105.

Meanwhile, 130,128 tests have been reported to date to ISDH, up from 124,782, an increase of 4.3 percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 17.8 percent. Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and private laboratories.

Tests in Porter County: 2,266 (2,204 on Thursday). In Lake County: 11,662 (10,961). In LaPorte County: 1,845 (1,757).

Marion County has the most reported cases, 7,078 (6,914 on Thursday); and the most deaths, 403 (398). Lake County has reported 2,359 cases (2,2288) and 118 deaths (111), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has reported 307 and 11 deaths (303 and 10).
