The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 440 new cases of
COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (533 new cases on Monday), to bring total
cases so far to 40,786, up from 40,430 on Friday, an increase of 1.1
ISDH was also
reporting 14 additional deaths over the last 24 hours (11 additional deaths
on Monday), to bring total deaths so far to 2,447, up from 2,433, an
increase of 0.6 percent.
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 4,942 cases and 1,082 deaths (unchanged from Monday).
Number of nursing home facilities in the state with at least one case of
COVID-19: 264. Number of nursing homes in the state with at least one
COVID-19 death: 164.
363,745 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 355,829 on Monday, an increase of 2.2
percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 11.2 percent. Tests
are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
and private laboratories.
Tests in Porter
County: 6,734 (6,587 on Monday). In Lake County: 30,593 (30,003). In LaPorte
County: 5,680 (5,614).
Porter County’s 8.8
percent positive rate compares favorably to Lake’s (13.8 percent) and the
state’s (11.2 percent) but is higher than LaPorte’s (8.43 percent).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 10,834 (10,788 on Monday); and the most deaths, 654
(651). Lake County has reported 4,211 cases (4,172) and 230 deaths (230),
the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County has
reported 471 cases and 24 deaths (470 and 24).
The total COVID-19
death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date.
Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms
all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total
of 182 presumptive deaths was reported today, unchanged from Monday.
