The Porter County
Health Department was reporting this morning 32 new COVID-19 cases over the
last 24 hours (14 new cases on Thursday), to bring the total so far to
2,145, up from 2,113 on Thursday.
Of those 32 new
cases, 16--or 50 percent--were diagnosed in the younger demographics: three
in the 0-19 (320 total); seven in the 20-29 (425 total); four in the 30-39
(324 total); and two in the 40-49 (320 total).
To date, 320 cases
have been diagnosed in children or teens, or 14.9 percent of all cases (15
percent on Thursday). On July 7, only 39 children or teens had been
diagnosed of the 765 total cases at the time: or 5.1 percent.
patients are currently hospitalized, up from six on Thursday. Total active
cases in Porter County: 250, up from 218 on Thursday.
A total of 119
COVID-19 cases has been reported in Porter County long-term care facilities,
unchanged from Thursday. Of those 119, 31 have died, 85 recovered, and none
is currently hospitalized, all unchanged from Thursday. As of today, there
were three active COVID-19 cases in the county’s long-term care facilities,
also unchanged from Thursday.

includes Valparaiso University students.

cases (unchanged from Thursday). Six active cases. Washington Township’s
total includes Porter County Jail inmates.

(116 on Thursday). Seventeen active cases.
The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 1,195 new COVID-19
cases over the last 24 hours (920 new cases on Thursday), to bring the total
so far to 115,407, up from 114,236 on Thursday.
ISDH was also
reporting 18 additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (18
additional deaths on Thursday), to bring the total to date to 3,577, up from
3,559 on Thursday.
Marion County was
reporting today 21,196 cases (20,941 on Thursday) and 765 deaths (764), the
most in the state in both categories. Lake County was reporting 10,493 cases
(10,397) and 323 deaths (321), the second most in the state in both
categories. LaPorte County was reporting 1,423 cases (1,405) and 40 deaths
