Parks and Recreation Department lists its activities and programs available
to residents for their wellness and enjoyment throughout the next few weeks.

*Â Freezing
Foods: On Tuesday, April 22, an educator from Purdue Extension will provide
tips and techniques for freezing foods - from fresh produce to leftovers
from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hebron Public Library. This is a free
program.
*Â Gentle Yoga
and Strength Training for Seniors: Sponsored by Porter Regional Hospital
Senior Circle: Starting April 24 until June 5 every Thursday at the Hebron
Public Library from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. this Gentle Yoga and Strength Training
class, Taught by a Yoga Fit Certified Instructor, will teach the basics of
gentle yoga while sitting in a chair. The Parks Department will also
incorporate the use of TheraBands for gentle strength training. Cost is $5
for each session or $30 for the entire series.
*Â Boot Camp
at Sunset-Sponsored by Porter Regional Hospital: Join a master level trainer
at Sunset Hill for an invigorating hour long workout that is guaranteed to
work your body from head to toe. Sessions will be on Saturdays from 7-8 a.m.
from April 26 to June 14. Open to men and women 18 years and older. Cost is
$5 per session or $35 for the series.

Yoga/Meditation Retreat: Join an instructor at Brincka Cross Gardens on
Sunday, April 27 from 1-4 p.m. for a restorative retreat that will focus on
both mind and body by incorporating meditative techniques. Cost is $40.
*Â Mind, Body,
Wellness Open House: Join instructors for an afternoon at Brincka Cross
Gardens on Saturday, May 3 from 12-4 p.m. and experience the programs that
are offered there. There will be mini blocks of Reiki, gentle yoga, mandala,
meditative walks and much more. This is a free program.
*Â Women’s
Walk Club at Sunset Hill Farm County Park-Sponsored by Porter Regional
Hospital: Come to Sunset Hill for a walk on the challenging terrain of the
park, every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9 a.m. The walk will traverse grass,
hills, and woodland trails. Must be 18 years or older. This is a free
program.
*Â Sunset Dog
Walkers at Sunset Hill Farm County Park: Bring your four-legged friend on a
leash for a walk on the trails at Sunset Hill Farm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 10-11 a.m. The walk will offer wellness information and encouragement
for the dogs and their walkers. Must be 18 years or older. This is a free
program.
*Â Weekday
Walk at Sunset Hill Farm County Park: Come to Sunset Hill for a walk on the
challenging terrain of the park. The program begins on Wednesdays starting
on April 23 and continues each Wednesday until Oct. 29. The walk will
traverse grass, hills, and woodland trails. Open to men and women 18 years
or older. This is a free program.
