The Porter County
Health Department was reporting this morning 24 new COVID-19 cases over the
last 24 hours (24 new cases on Thursday), to bring the total so far to
1,801, up from 1,777 on Thursday.
Of those 24 new
cases, 20--or 83 percent--were diagnosed among the younger demographics: six
in the 0-19 (257 total); six in the 20-29 (357 total); six in the 30-39 (272
total); and two in the 40-49 (280 total).
Seven patients are
currently hospitalized, unchanged from Thursday. Total active cases in
Porter County: 195, up from 171 on Thursday.
Department reported no additional deaths today. To date 43 Porter County
residents have succumbed to COVID-19.
A total of 110
cases has been reported so far in long-term care facilities in Porter
County, one is currently hospitalized, 74 have recovered, and 27 have died,
unchanged from Thursday.
To date, 257 cases
have been diagnosed in children or teens, or 14.3 percent of all cases (14.1
percent on Thursday). On July 7, only 39 children or teens had been
diagnosed of the 765 total cases at the time: or 5.1 percent.
