Jo Winey Babcock Memorial Endowment fund nears goal

Back To Front Page

The love of the Duneland communities and all those whose lives Jo Winey Babcock touched has been apparent in the outpouring of support to create a permanent and lasting memorial to honor Jo’s memory.

Through the community’s generosity, the Jo Winey Babcock Memorial Endowment, made available to the Duneland Family YMCA through the Porter County Community Foundation’s Matching Grant Program, has grown to within $6,500 of the original $50,000 goal.

Each dollar donated will be matched with a dollar, allowing the Jo Winey Babcock Memorial Endowment to grow to $100,000. While the principal of the endowment fund can never be spent, the earnings from the endowment will help Duneland families participate in Y programs and services for years to come.

Jo was a lifelong friend of the Duneland Y, enjoying the benefits of Y programs and tirelessly offering her services to help the Y grow and thrive.

Please help reach the endowment goal by donating to this lasting tribute. Checks can be made payable to the Porter County Community Foundation (PCCF) and dropped off at the Duneland Y. Gifts are tax deductible. For more information, contact Duneland YMCA CEO Dave Kasarda, at (219) 926 4204.

The Duneland Family YMCA is a charitable nonprofit focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
