Fly flags half staff on Wednesday 9 11

Back To Front Page

A reminder to Dunelanders: Wednesday, Sept. 11, is Patriot Day, observed nationally to remember the martyrs and heroes of the 9/11 terrorists attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93.

On Patriot Day, the president directs that the American flag be flown at half-staff at the White House, at all federal facilities, and at private homes.

The president also asks Americans to observe a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. Central time, when the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.
