The victim was a
resident of Portage Township in the 80-89 demographic.
COVID-19 deaths in
Porter County now total 11. Of those, four were Dunelanders: three from
Westchester Township, two in the 80-89 demographic, one in the 50-59; and a
Liberty Township resident in the 80-89.
Five other Portage
Township residents have also died: three in the 50-59, one in 70-79, and one
in the 90-and-over.
One was a Center
Township resident in the 70-79.
Seven of the
victims were men. Four were women. Deaths by demographic: four in the 50-59;
two in the 70-79; four in the 80-89; and one in the 90-and-over.
Department was also reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24
hours, to bring the total in the county to 311, up from 302 on Thursday.
Those nine new
cases represent a 3-percent increase over the last 24 hours.

hospitalizations (six), and 78 recoveries (78).

These 43 cases include the 40 patients at Porter County Jail.
