The Porter County
Health Department was reporting eight new COVID-19 cases over the last 24
hours (five new cases on Tuesday), to bring the total so far to 1,963, up
from 1,955 on Tuesday.
Of those eight new
cases, three--or 38 percent--were diagnosed in the younger demographics: one
in the 0-19 (288 total); one in the 20-29 (393); and one in the 30-39 (293
total). Total 40-49: 302.
To date, 288 cases
have been diagnosed in children or teens, or 14.7 percent of all cases (14.7
percent on Tuesday). On July 7, only 39 children or teens had been diagnosed
of the 765 total cases at the time: or 5.1 percent.
patients are currently hospitalized, down from seven on Tuesday. Total
active cases in Porter County: 163, up from 156 on Tuesday.
To date, 119
COVID-19 cases have been reported in Porter County’s long-term care
facilities, unchanged from Tuesday. Of those 119, one is currently
hospitalized, 29 have died, and 81 have recovered. As of today, there were
nine active COVID-19 cases in the county’s long-term care facilities.

residents have succumbed to COVID-19.

The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 624 new cases of
COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (758 new cases on Tuesday), to bring the
total so far to 107,809, up from 107,229 on Tuesday.
ISDH was also
reporting 12 additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (21
additional deaths on Tuesday), to bring the total to date to 3,486, up from
3,474 on Tuesday,
Marion County was
reporting today 20,249 cases (20,196 on Tuesday) and 757 deaths (756), the
most in the state in both categories. Lake County was reporting 9,956 cases
(9,939) and 312 deaths (309), the second most in the state in both
categories. LaPorte County was reporting 1,336 cases (1,324) and 37 deaths
The total COVID-19
death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date.
Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms
all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total
of 225 presumptive deaths was reported today, unchanged from Tuesday.
