After being closed
for an extended period of time to allow cleanup from a recent flood, the
Duneland Medical Equipment Loan Closet, located in the Duneland Resale Shop
at 801 Broadway, Chesterton, will reopen on Saturday, August 6, at 9:30 a.m.
The volunteers are
resuming their normal schedule of being open on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:45
a.m., and on Tuesdays from 1 to 3:45 p.m., for those needing to borrow
equipment as well as those wishing to make donations of medical equipment.
The Duneland
Medical Loan Closet is a wonderful community resource for persons living in
Pine, Liberty, Jackson and Westchester Townships. The organization offers
free loans of medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, commodes,
crutches, canes, etc.) for three months. Volunteers are always happy to
welcome new volunteers and will provide the training needed.
For more
information or to volunteer, please call Porter United Methodist Church at
