Dozens of local artists to exhibit at Chesterton Art Fair

The 60th annual Chesterton Art Fair will take place on August 4-5, at Dogwood Park in Chesterton, IN. The event will include a variety of talented artists from NW Indiana.

The roster of artists includes the following from Porter County--Mary Acton, Pysanky, Chesterton; Robert Albers, Wood, Valparaiso; Laurie Carpenter, Oils, Valparaiso; Jackie Gray, Fiber, Valparaiso; Nancy Harrington, Jewelry, Valparaiso; David Lee, Glass, Valparaiso; Jayde McAloon, Jewelry, Chesterton; Kathi Millet, Jewelry, Kouts; George Millet, Watercolors, Kouts; MaryAnn Pals, Pastels, Chesterton; Joel Pisowicz, Clay, Porter; Tom Rice, Clay, Valparaiso; Candice Sexton, Jewelry Chesterton; Emily Strilich, Wood, Valparaiso; Mark VanderVinne, Oils, Porter; and Dub Wigley, Metal, Chesterton.

The Lake County artists include--Rita Anthony, Photography, Hammond; Marcel Barcomb, Wood, Crown Point; Terry Donovan, Photography, Lowell; Sally Hooker, Watercolor, Munster; Joe Ladendorf, Photography, Lowell; Kelly Meska, Clay, Merrillville; Scott Smith, Photography, St. John; Tracy Tauber, Oils, Rensselaer; and Cara Van Leuven, 2D, Highland.

LaPorte County artists include Laurel Izard, a mixed media artist of Michigan City, and Diane Perry, a fiber artist from Wanatah.

Art Fair Saturday & Sunday

The hours of the fair are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, with an admission charge of $5 per person, or $7 for the whole weekend. Children ages 12 and under are free. Parking is free as well.

Dogwood Park is located at the corner of 1100 N and 23rd St., in Chesterton. The event will include over 90 juried artists from 13 states in 15 different mediums.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or pre-purchased through EventBrite at https://2018chestertonartfair.eventbrite.com. Proceeds from the Chesterton Art Fair are vital to the operation of the Art Center, which helps provide art education programming for the coming year. Over 1,000 children participate in art classes each year, creating projects and learning to appreciate and enjoy art in its many forms.
