This Wednesday, the Burns Harbor Food Truck Square will hold a donation drive to help those in need in Houston, during its "Food Truck Square Wednesday" tomorrow evening.

The Town of Burns Harbor has teamed up with Custom Fitz Trucks to hold a special donation drive. Custom Fitz Trucks will transport the donated items to Texas.

Representative Bob Paulson will have his truck at the square to collect donations from 5 to 8 p.m. The food truck square is located off of Ind. 149, at 1237 Westport Rd.

Anyone who brings a donation will be entered into a drawing for a food truck money voucher to be used at any event at the square. Some donations that are greatly needed include backpacks, cleaning products, tools for demolition, bags for trash and ziplock bags.

"The Food Truck Square was designed to be a space that brings the community together and this week we are bringing the community together for a purpose," said Monica Jimenez-Susoreny, President of JumpStartPR and Food Truck Square promoter.

The Burns Harbor Food Truck Square is open to the public every Wednesday night. It is the perfect space for attendees to enjoy a night with their family or just stop by and pick up a meal. Admission is free. Every Wednesday there are a variety of food trucks, music, and free bouncy house fun provided by Bounce N Around.

Each evening has a designated specific theme such as Kids Take Over on Sept. 13, and the Brews Blues and BBQ event set for Saturday, Sept. 16.

This week the food truck square truck lineup includes: Chunky Tacos, Dogs N Hogs, Sizzlebox and Heroes Hospitality.

"We changed this week's theme due to the recent devastation that occurred in Texas," Jimenez-Susoreny said.
