The Porter County
Health Department was reporting this morning two more deaths from COVID-19
in the county, to bring the total so far to 15.
Both victims were
Portage Township residents, one in the 80-89 age group, the other
90-and-over. One of the victims was a man, the other a woman.
Of the 15 Porter
County residents who have died of COVID-19, five were Dunelanders: four
Westchester Township residents, two 70-79 demographic and two 80-89. A
Liberty Township resident 80-89 has died as well.
has seen nine of its residents die from COVID-19: three 50-59 demographic,
one 70-79; two 80-89; and three 90-and-over.
One victim was a
Center Township resident 70-79.
Nine of the victims
were men. Six were women. Deaths by demographic: four 50-59; three 70-79;
five 80-89; and three 90-and-over.
Department was reporting this morning nine new cases of COVID-19 in the
county over the last 24 hours (10 new cases on Thursday), to bring the total
so far to 393, up from 384 on Thursday, an increase of 2.3 percent. The 19
new cases over the last 48 hours represent a 5.1 percent increase from
those patients are currently hospitalized, compared to 24 on Thursday; while
231 have recovered, unchanged from Thursday.

cases, one death, no hospitalizations, 11 recoveries (unchanged from
Thursday). Seven active cases.

case, one recovery.
-- Pine: three
cases, no hospitalizations, one recovery (unchanged from Thursday). Two
Other hard hit
Township: 169 cases (167 on Thursday), nine deaths (seven), eight
hospitalizations (seven), and 91 recoveries (91).

(74 on Thursday), one death (one), 16 hospitalizations (14), and 35

These 46 cases include the 40 patients at Porter County Jail.
