Chesterton Manor held a celebration last week to mark 170 days without a COVID-19 case among its residents.

Chesterton Manor is one of the few long-term care facilities in Porter County to remain free of the virus since the pandemic began.

“We have been very fortunate to keep the virus at bay,” said Judy Steel, HFA. “Preemptive measures right at the beginning gave us a good start on keeping our residents safe.”

Employees accordingly held a day full of games and a catered meal to express appreciation for the residents.

“Chesterton Manor is a wonderful place to work,” said Nicole Hluska, community liaison director. “The way everyone has pulled together during these difficult times is truly inspiring.”
