Chamber Party in the Park Saturday

Back To Front Page

More than 800 Duneland area residents and visitors are expected to attend the ninth annual Party in the Park event this Saturday, August 16, from 5 to 9 p.m. in Thomas Centennial Park, downtown Chesterton.

Wrist bands will be available for purchase at the event ticket booth behind the fountain within Thomas Centennial Park. Adult tickets are $5 per person, and children two years of age and under will be admitted to the event free of charge.

Party in the Park will feature a community potluck dinner, in which wrist band wearers can sample special dishes prepared by more than a dozen different Duneland area restaurants. A beer garden will be hosted by Leroy’s “Hotstuff” Mexican Restaurant, while DJ Gil Lewis from BlueStar Entertainment will bring the party to life. A free green screen and photo booth will be offered by IMPACT Technology Solutions Š giving guests the chance to commemorate their time at Duneland’s 2014 back-to-school bash.

James O’Connor Martial Arts and Fitness will be giving live demonstrations from 6-6:30 p.m., and Road to Life Church will be hosting KidTown USA Š a mini-village full of bounce houses, games and a bubble tent. Additional children’s games and activities will be provided by local non-profit and Chamber member organizations, including face-painting, caricature drawings, balloon animals, and much more.
