Celebration of the Arts at Schoolhouse Shop

Back To Front Page

Fall is just around the corner and The Schoolhouse Shop is enthusiastically preparing for the 26th Annual Celebration of the Arts, set for Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, September 21, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will be held on the lovely historical grounds in Furnessville, the quaint village near Chesterton adjacent to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Park.

There will be eight new artists joining past favorites, displaying mediums of all varieties, including a range of watercolor and oil painting, metal working, pottery, and jewelry, along with sculpture, weaving and photography. Forty plus exhibitors will grace the beautifully landscaped grounds.

Known as “your hidden treasure”, the 1886 brick Schoolhouse offers over 6,500 square feet of one stop, refined shopping. The Magic Pantry offers carefully chosen gourmet food specialties, Dunes Clothiers is a boutique for both men and women of discriminating taste, and Lake Effect Florals offers flower arrangements for every occasion.

The Art Fair has no charge for admission or parking. Santiago’s of Porter will cater lunch on the patio. Mark your calendars for a truly wonderful weekend with a short excursion to the Schoolhouse Shop.
