
Bill Carmichael, Black Powder Hall of Fame inductee
Bill Carmichael, of Chesterton, was inducted into the Black Powder Hall of
Fame during the 2003 National Muzzle Loading Championships held at
Friendship, Indiana.
Carmichael is the holder of National and International Muzzle Loading Skeet
records, winning numerous championships during his shooting career.
He has also served 17 years as the Skeet Range officer for the National
Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
During his tenure, he has overseen the rebuilding of the range facilities,
laid out and built a campground and spearheaded the drive for a modern
shower house/restroom facility.
He also served for two three-year terms on the NMLRA Board of Directors.
The inductee was recognized by the NMLRA “with grateful appreciation for
services rendered to preserve and enhance black powder sports. His
achievements have demonstrated a profound dedication to support, promote and
nurture key aspects of our sport and have set new standards for future
generations of Black Powder enthusiasts,”
Carmichael is also a member of the International Muzzle Loading
Association’s Hall of Fame.
