In May of 2014, Matt Keil was taken to the ER with a sore throat, needed
emergency surgery and ended up on a Ventilator (life support).
Keil was in the ICU for five days in a medical coma.
Prior to the emergency, he had started a brand new job just a week before he
became ill, and was still in the 60 day probationary period for his medical
insurance and was not yet eligible for coverage.
His wife Nicole drove an hour to and from the hospital every day to be at
his side. This not only left Matt out of work, but Nicole as well.
