The Porter County
Health Department was reporting this morning another COVID-19 death, to
bring the total so far to 46.
The victim was a
Center Township resident in the 60-69 demographic, not residing in a long
term care facility.
To date, 46 Porter
County residents have succumbed to COVID-19. Ten have been Dunelanders:
eight, Westchester Township residents; and two, Liberty Township residents.
Eighteen Portage Township residents have died; 17 Center Township residents;
and one Union Township resident. Deaths by demographic: six in the 50-59;
five in the 60-69; 11 in the 70-79; 12 in the 80-89; and 12 in the
Health Department was reporting 23 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours
(eight new cases on Wednesday), to bring the total so far to 1,986, up from
1,963 on Wednesday.
Of those 23 new
cases, 14--or 61 percent--were diagnosed in the younger demographics: three
in the 0-19 (291 total); six in the 20-29 (399); and five in the 30-39 (298
total). Total 40-49: 302.
To date, 291 cases
have been diagnosed in children or teens, or 14.7 percent of all cases (14.7
percent on Wednesday). On July 7, only 39 children or teens had been
diagnosed of the 765 total cases at the time: or 5.1 percent.
patients are currently hospitalized, up from five on Wednesday. Total active
cases in Porter County: 186, up from 163 on Wednesday.
To date, 119
COVID-19 cases have been reported in Porter County’s long-term care
facilities, unchanged from Wednesday. Of those 119, one is currently
hospitalized, 29 have died, and 81 have recovered. As of today, there were
nine active COVID-19 cases in the county’s long-term care facilities.

cases (112 on Wednesday). Eighteen active cases.

cases (30 on Wednesday). Eight active cases.

cases (679 on Wednesday). Forty-eight active cases.
-- Center: 546
cases (545 on Wednesday). Thirty-seven active cases. Center Township’s total
includes Valparaiso University students.

cases (unchanged from Wednesday). Six active cases. Washington Township’s
total includes Porter County Jail inmates.
-- Union: 108 cases
(105 on Wednesday). Ten active cases.
The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 850 new cases of
COVID-19 over the last 24 hours (624 new cases on Wednesday), to bring the
total so far to 108,646, up from 107,809 on Wednesday.
ISDH was also
reporting six additional COVID-19 deaths over the last 24 hours (12
additional deaths on Wednesday), to bring the total to date to 3,492, up
from 3,486 on Wednesday.
Marion County was
reporting today 20,341 cases (20,249 on Wednesday) and 757 deaths (757), the
most in the state in both categories. Lake County was reporting 10,013 cases
(9,956) and 312 deaths (312), the second most in the state in both
categories. LaPorte County was reporting 1,348 cases (1,336) and 37 deaths
The total COVID-19
death count includes both confirmed and presumptive deaths to date.
Presumptive deaths are those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms
all point to COVID-19 but for which no positive test is on record. A total
of 225 presumptive deaths was reported today, unchanged from Wednesday.
