Another CHS student tests positive for C19

Another Chesterton High School student has tested positive for COVID-19, the Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.

The student tested positive on Tuesday afternoon. Fifteen persons have been identified as close contacts of that student and will be quarantining for 14 days, DSC said.

"Please be aware that privacy laws, including HIPAA and FERPA, prevent us from sharing further information regarding students and staff," DSC said.

According to the Chesterton Tribune’s records, 34 DSC in-person students or staffers have tested positive since classes began:

-- Chesterton High School: 16 students.

-- Chesterton Middle School: four students.

-- Westchester Intermediate School: two students; one staffer.

-- Liberty Elementary: one student.

-- Liberty Intermediate: three staffers.

-- Yost Elementary: two students; one staffer.

-- Bailly Elementary: two students.

-- Jackson Elementary: one student.

-- Brummitt Elementary: one student.
